On the site of the listed historic post office at the corner of Hindenburgdamm and Königsberger Strasse, the "Am Postufer" ensemble of buildings is being developed right on the bank of Teltowkanal. Overall, four buildings with 48 modern flats of 2 to 5 bedrooms will be created.
Lichterfelde counts among the well-established, historically grown districts in the south-west part of the city and is quite typical of Berlin. It benefits from excellent infrastructure with access to the expressway as well as to the public transport network in the form of bus, underground and rapid transit lines. Two bus stops are actually located right outside the old post office. And the best thing about it: In less than 20 minutes, you can be either downtown or out in the countryside. To spend the day at the lake shore of Schlachtensee or Wannsee or perhaps in Potsdam. The line-up of restaurants, cafés and shopping venues is impressive—for instance along Schlossstrasse, the local high street with several shopping centres, including "Das Schloss." There are a number of preschools, schools and sports clubs in the area. The Grün-Weiss tennis club is practically on your door step. Add to this the many street markets and green spaces in the area, the Botanical Garden, plus the major museums and the science and research campus of the Free University of Berlin in Dahlem.
